IDentification logoIDENTIFICATION IN THE BANKING SECTOR – Ref. C2

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

The use of the bank card as a means of payment is becoming widespread throughout the world. In view of this, banks and finance institutions are seeking to develop a relationship of trust in order to ensure strong authentication. Several techniques are already being used, like the unique password and electronic signature. What are the guarantees, and for which services?

IDentification logoTHE USES OF BIOMETRY – Ref. C3

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

Despite a number of reservations, biometry is becoming a widely used technology. Its main assets lie in the fact that it is rapid and practical. Recourse to biometric techniques (finger and iris prints, vocal recognition and so on) is becoming common, and their application increasingly varied. What shared future lies in store for these techniques with the smart card as a support?

CARD BASICS – Ref. C4

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

The aim of this educational conference is to grasp the real use, development and life cycle of a product or technology. Four topics will be covered throughout the day in talks by specialists, providing an opportunity to get a clearer picture of the problems relating to cards and/or identification.

TOMORROW’S SIM CARD – Ref. C5

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

The SIM is becoming highly sought-after, because its increasingly extensive technical characteristics and operational capacities make it a nomadic communicating tool, with multiple uses open to all types of associated technologies. Besides what is convergence level with all these technologies? What are its limits in relation with its contents?

IDentification logoRFID: SOLUTIONS – Ref. C6

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

After long years of stammering, RFID (radio frequency identification) has finally reached the phase where it can be produced and applied. Pilot versions have now been succeeded by practical applications. With the use of radio frequencies previously unavailable up till now, this technology now has the means to fulfill its ambition.

E-MONEY – Ref C7

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

The opening up of the international banking market is facilitating the entry of new players, and many new projects are now starting up. The influence of the contactless solution as a payment method is becoming increasingly evident. How should it be viewed, and what can we expect of all these future changes?

MULTI-APPLICATIONS – Ref C8

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

The need to be able to combine several applications on the same support reflects the wealth and diversity of the solutions available. The „all-in-one“ concept makes it possible to manage differing but complementary services for specific and general applications, and is a hotbed for marketing research and development.

ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS – Ref C9

* 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

The smart card is being increasingly used because of its memory and storage capacities. The aim is to find the right balance between its specific features and its uses, optimized at the lowest possible cost.

MOBILITY – Ref. C10

* 2 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.

Nowadays, mobility is equated with rapidity, facility, fluidity and new technologies. Private individuals travel around with all their technology on board. With contactless solutions, RFID, multi-applications and e-ticketing, the concept of mobility is constantly changing. What are the latest innovations in this respect?

PERSONALIZATION: ADDED VALUE SERVICES – Ref. C11

* 9.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.

The personalization of cards offers new market opportunities. The trend lies in differentiation, in terms of both the form factor and appearance. Is this the influence of fashion? Which market segment is the target, and for which offer – cards for private individuals, or cards for a community? What are the benefits for consumers? What role does the contactless solution play in this area?

IDentification logoTHEFT IDENTITY – Ref. C12

* 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

New techniques for stealing another person’s identity are regularly discovered. They are becoming increasingly pernicious, with the aim of falsely inspiring confidence and inducing a sense of guilt in net surfers. What kind of barriers can be raised to put an end to such attacks? How can tools be developed to limit fraud?

JAVACARD – Ref. C13

* 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

After more than 10 years of existence, JavaCard is the most reliable means for making any kind of platform secure. Its portability, compatibility with other standards, level of security and flexibility all make it an essential interface in the world of the smart card. What can we expect from this technology in practical terms?

IDentification logoACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS – Ref. C14

* 2 p.m. – 5.30 p.m.

Access control enables qualified individuals to enter a building or access applications, and prohibits access to non-authorized persons. To do so, various techniques are brought into play so that rights holders can be efficiently authenticated in complete security. What level of performance and traceability can we expect?

CONTACTLESS SOLUTION AND ITS APPLICATIONS – Ref. C19

* 9.30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

More and more sectors of activity are making use of contactless technologies for their practical and functional aspects. Will this technology be indispensable in the future?
